On the eve of Indian Air Force Day, a seminar for creating awareness about various career opportunities available for youth in India was organized at G.H.G. Khalsa Colleges, Gurusar Sadhar (Ludhiana), on 8th and 9th October, 2018. The seminar was attended by more than 500 final year students from the three constituent colleges; Degree College, College of Pharmacy & College of Education. Mr. Nitin Jain, a 'Young Diplomat Awardee' and his team from the Developing Success Institute, New Delhi, gave presentations to the students on various career avenues. They motivated the youngsters to choose government jobs in India over migrating to greener pastures in western nations. Various instances of Indians leading by example from all walks of life were quoted to connect the youth to their roots. The aim of the visiting team was to deliver quality career services and resources to empower and enable students to make personality oriented career decisions. Specially designed capsules on tackling the tricky sections of the competitive examinations like the current affairs and english were also conducted. Through motivational examples, an emphasis was laid upon instilling the importance of balance between hardwork and smartwork for cracking the competitive exams. The seminar was concluded with a mock drill for all the participating students to ascertain their aptitude and suitability for various disciplines in government jobs. Dr. S. S. Deol, Principal, thanked the visiting team and exhorted the students to recognize their core strength and consciously work towards cracking the examinations. He emphasized on the dignity of labour and asked the students to harness their potential in whichever field they might choose. Lt. Gen. I.S. Singha, Director, G.H.G.
