The college is located in village Sadhar, which is 28 Kmts. from Ludhiana on Ludhiana-Raikot-Barnala Road. This institution is associated with the name of Sri Guru HarGobind Sahib Ji, the sixth Guru, who once visited this place in 1633, symbol of Miri-Piri i.e. a combination of Spiritual as well as temporal authority. People of the area are grateful to late Nihang Shamsher Singh who selected this place as the nucleus of his spiritual and great educational adventure. In 1921, he started a modest Gurmukhi Pathshala( Vernacular primary school). In 1948, Intermediate College was started and later on, it became a Degree College i.e GHG Khalsa College.

The college has ultra-modern computer center with four computer labs having networking facilities. The labs have 24 hours Internet connectivity. Totally Wi-Fi campus.
There is a spacious seminar hall with a seating capacity of 100 persons. The college has facility of smart class rooms, L.C.D. Projectors and over Head Projectors. A wide range of educational CD's are available. A separate cell to help and train the teachers to prepare Multimedia/Audio Visual presentations and teaching packages has been set up.
To ensure student's participation in decision making student's welfare council is formed from amongst the college students, it provides a platform for the students to discuss the educational, co-curricular and student welfare activities and share these with the Principal, Dean and Staff.
All the students are divided into a number of groups with a teacher as a tutor for each. This provides an opportunity for the teacher taught close and personal contact. The tutor is expected to know the personal history of his/her wards thoroughly. He should also keep watch on the physical and intellectual welfare of his wards.
It is the prime interest of administration to secure all the students and employees financially. So, group insurance scheme for all students, teaching and non-teaching staff has been implemented.
The students of the college are provided with the facility to bus passes at concessional rates. For this, the students have to prescribed form and get it attested from the tutor. Photographs are required for the bus pass. Passes are issue PEPSU Road Transport Corporation and Punjab Roadways.
INFLIBNET's N-LIST programme enables the library clientele to have access to more than 6000 e-journals and nearly 100000 e-books. This college is a member of British Council Library that enables us to have a wider access to the knowledge.
The needy and meritorious students are issued books from the book bank for the entire academic session on the recommendation of the tutor and with the permission of the Principal.
On the recommendation of the tutor and with the permission of the Principal, regular students of the college can become the members of this library by filling the prescribed form. For this they will have to adhere to the university regulations. The members of this library will be issued university roll numbers at the end of the year, after they clear all the library dues.
Library brings academic ambience in the educational institutions. Library "The Reservoir of Knowledge" has a paradigm shift from document to information. The library building and material inside it, no longer define the concept of academic library in the present scenario. Library is a living organism consisting of library documents, staff, and Premises organized and functioning to collect, conserve and exploit books.
Safety and security of students especially girls is our top-most priority. Keeping this in mind, a fleet of buses is made available for girl students. The facility is available to a student for a minimum period of one year and the fee is payable on half yearly basis.

The College has setup Career Guidance & Counseling Cell. It guides the students in selection of the courses and subjects at the time of admissions and avenues for further studies. At present the National Cadet Corps is being run in our college. Cadets are trained for parade and various certification examinations. Cadets are also sent to various camps for physical training, weapon training, rock climbing, trekking, river rafting and paragliding etc.

A botanical garden or botanic garden[nb 1] is a garden dedicated to the collection, cultivation and display of a wide range of plants labelled with their botanical names. It may contain specialist plant collections such as cacti and other succulent plants, herb gardens.
Under National Service Scheme a contingent of 200 volunteers both boys and girls have been sanctioned through the Panjab University by the Ministry of Education and Social Welfare, Government of India to provide opportunity to the students to join valuable practical experience in community service through such programmes as eradication of illiteracy, rural reconstruction, national integration, health etc.
The College has Placement Cell which arranges Campus Interviews, Industry Contacts & Business establishment for providing employment to our students. The cell also helps students who need jobs under the earn-while-you-learn scheme.

N.S.S. unit of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized Seven Day
long N.S.S. Camp from December 22-28, 2022 under the supervision of the Programme Officers Dr.
Rachhpal Singh and Dr. Mini Sharma. As many as 61 volunteers participated in the camp with
appreciable dedication and motivation. The main theme of the camp was, ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha
Bharat and Fit India’.
The camp was inaugurated on December 22, 2022 by Dr. Adit Gupta, Principal MIER College
of Education, Jammu. The inauguration ceremony commenced with the College Shabad followed by
address of Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the College. Addressing the NSS volunteers, Dr.
Pargat Singh Garcha insisted the students to be socially active and responsible person. The objective
of organizing the camp was to inculcate sense of responsibility among the volunteers. Various
activities which marked the seven-day long camp included poster making competition, awareness
rally, extension lectures, tree plantation and cleanliness drives at different areas in and nearby village
Sadhar, a Yoga camp and medical checkup camp etc. Volunteers showcased their artistic best in the
poster making competition and prepared posters on the themes related to various social issues like
Drug Abuse, Female Foeticide, Environment Protection and theme of the Camp Ek Bharat Shreshtha
Bharat. In the awareness rally volunteers raised the slogans like “Rukh Lgao, Jeevan Bachaao” ,
“Paani di Bachat karo” , “Prali Na Jalaao, Vaataavaran Bachao” etc. to spread awareness among
villagers on the environmental and other social issues.
On the concluding day Dr. Sanjeev Chopra graced the occasion as Chief Guest. A cultural
programme was organized to mark the concluding day in which the volunteers showcased their
talents by presenting cultural items comprising of Shabad, speech, patriotic songs, group dance, skit
etc. Babanpreet Kaur and Amandeep Singh of B.Ed. first year were adjudged as the best volunteers
among girls and boys respectively. The prominent guests present on the occasion included Dr. Jagjit
Singh Brar, S. Charanjit Singh Gill, Mrs. Kuljeet Kaur, S. Gurnaib Singh, S. Harminder Singh and S.
Gurmeet Singh Brar.
Dr. Manu Chadha, Associate Prof.in the college presented vote of thanks at the end of the
event. Dr. Jagjit Singh, from Punjabi Department of the College conducted the stage on the occasion.
Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges (Degree, Education and Pharmacy) celebrated the 'Avatar Purab' of the first Patsahi, Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji with great reverence and fanfare like every year. After completion of three days Akhand Path Sahib, Shabad Kirtan was performed by students of the colleges in Nihang Shamsher Singh Hall. On this occasion, Dr. Harpreet Singh ,Principal of Degree College, said that Guru Nanak Sahib had taken us out of the problems but today we are again trapped in them. He further adds that the purpose of celebrating Gurpurab is also that we can avoid these problems by following the path shown by Guru Sahib. While Conducting the entire event, Dr. Sohan Singh said that it is very satisfying that we all are celebrating the incarnation of Guru Nanak Sahib, the common leader of mankind. Mr. Manjit Singh Gill, President, College Governing Counsil, Principals, staff and students of all the three colleges along with the members of the college governing council were also present on this occasion. After the end of the program, Guru Ka Langar was served.
G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized its annual Alumni Meet on
November 12, 2022. More than 50 alumni attended the event to relive college years and
reconnect with their Alma Mater. The meet was organized by Alumni Association of the college
under the patron ship of Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the college and Prof. Rachhpal
Singh, Working Secretary of the Alumni Association of the college. S. Jaswant Jafar, renowned
poet was Chief Guest and S. Sukhwinder Singh Gurm, District Language Officer, Barnala was
guest of honour on the occasion. The event started with the of college Shabad followed by
formal welcome of the chief Guest and the alumni by Principal Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha.
A poetical event was organized on the occasion to celebrate the Punjabi Month as per the
directions of Govt. of Punjab. The poetical event witnessed the recitation of self-composed
poems by the alumni. The audience was truly delighted with the melodious compositions. S.
Prabhjot Sohi, Ms. Joginder Noormeet, Mr. Pali Khadim, Mr. Rajdeep Toor, Mr. Ramanjeet
Singh Mr. Raninder Ravi, Mr. Ranjit Hatoor, Dr. Yashji Nakodri, Mr. Amarjit Singh shared their
beautiful compositions with the audience. S. Santokh Singh Gill, President, Alumni Association
of the college presented a brief report of the achievements of the Alumni Association to the
audience and acknowledged the role of the College in providing efficient teachers to the society.
Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha in his speech expressed gratitude to the alumni association for
generating funds, which are used by college for helping needy students. He also shared the
achievement of the College in academic, sports and cultural arena. The alumni of the college
shared their experiences as well as interesting moments of campus life with the audience. The

In order to discuss the various challenges and opportunities of National Education Policy 2020,
G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar in collaboration with Council for Teacher
Education Foundation organized a seminar on the topic “National Education Policy 2020:
Reforms in Higher Education" on November 05, 2022. The resource person on the occasion
included Prof. Sachidanand Mohanty, Former Vice Chancellor, Central University, Orissa and
Dr. Khushvinder Kumar, Principal, M.M. Modi College, Patiala. The event started with the
recital of College Shabad followed by Lamp lightning ceremony. Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal
G.H.G. Khalsa College, Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal, G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education
and Dr. Satwinder Kaur, Principal, G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy presented formal
welcome to the resource persons.
While speaking on the occasion Prof. Sachidanand Mohanty said that Education is as inevitable
as breathing. He threw light on the internationalization of education in India which must be part
and parcel of its education system. He mentioned few strategies for internationalization of Indian
Education System by providing students with opportunities for self growth, making them self
reliant, providing career opportunities, encouraging creative and original thinking etc. Prof.
Mohanty recommended the organization of Study India Programmes in the educational
institutions.
Dr. Khushvinder Kumar in his address highlighted the need of transforming standalone institutes
into multidisciplinary institutions in the light of National Education Policy 2020. He suggested
that educational institutions must strengthen themselves by providing various add on courses.
Dr. Khushvinder Kumar also raised some issues and concerns regarding merger of educational
institutions for having the status of multidisciplinary institutions. A Panel discussion also
followed after the deliberation by the resource persons where the attendees put forth their queries
related to the various facets of NPE 2020.
A book named “Post Covid Education Scenario in India” and latest issue of GHG Journal of
sixth Thought- A biannual Research Journal was released on the occasion. The galaxy of
renowned educationists present on the occasion included Dr. Tripta Parmar, Principal S.D.S.
College of Education for Women, Lopon, Mr. and Mrs. Sanghera from Managing Committee,
S.D.S. Colleges for Women, Lopon, Bibi Karmjit Kaur, Principal Dr. Gurwinder Kaur and
delegates from different colleges of the area.
Students of G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar has once again proved their
mettle in the Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival of Educational Colleges
(Zone –B) held at S.D.S. College of Education, Lopon from October 31-November 02, 2022.
The College won 54 Prizes and the overall trophy. The participants made their mark by winning 28 First
Prizes in events like Group Bhajan/Shabad, Folk Geet, Group dance, Instrumental Music (Non-
percussion), Folk Orchestra, One Act Play, Bhand, Histrionics, Debate, Handwriting (Hindi), Vaar, Kali,
Muhaveredar Vartalap, Chikku Making, Paranda Making, Pihri Making, Rassa vatna and Guddiyan
Patole. Students won 15 second prizes and 11 third prizes in the various categories. S. Manjit Singh
Gill, President, College Governing Council and Dr. S.S. Thind, Secretary College Governing Council
congratulated Principal Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, faculty as well as students for putting in their best
efforts in the Youth Festival.
While felicitating the students and faculty on this momentous occasion, Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha
encouraged them to scale still further heights. He said that it is always the prime objective of GHG

Pallavi Sejwal, Student of B.Ed Semester III of the college won three medals in Panjab University Intercollege Swimming Championship 2022. Pallavi got one Gold Medal in 50m Freestyle butterfly, one silver medal in 200m backstroke and one bronze medal in 400m freestyle categories. While congratulating Pallavi Sejwal and Mr. Sukhchain Singh, Physical Education Instructor in the College, Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the College said that this achievement is a proud moment for the College. He further added that G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education has always been committed towards all round development of the students and provides multifaceted opportunities in the form of co-curricular, sports and allied activities to the students to unveil their hidden potential. G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized one day N.S.S camp on
October 21, 2022 in the college campus. All the students of the college participated in the
camp under the able guidance of Programme Officers Dr. Jasleen Kaur and Dr. Rachhpal
Singh. The camp was organized with the objectives to develop personality of students
through participation in community work as well as competence required for group living
and sharing responsibilities.
The camp was conducted in two phases. In the first phase, to spread the awareness
regarding Green and safe Diwali a poster making competition was organized by the Eco
Club, Fine Arts Club and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Club of the College.
A Cleanliness and tree plantation drive was organized in the second phase of the camp
where the volunteers cleaned the college campus including classrooms, staff room,
College Hall, Parking area and various labs of the college and planted trees in the College
premises. All the students participated in the camp with full enthusiasm. Dr. Pargat Singh
Garcha, Principal of the college congratulated the NSS Wing, Eco Club, Fine Arts Club
and Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Club of the college for the successful organization of the
camp. He also congratulated the students for participating in the camp wholeheartedly.
Library Department and Punjabi Sahitya Sabha of G. H. G. Khalsa College of Education,
Gurusar Sadhar organized a book exhibition and special lecture on book writing in the college
campus on October 20, 2022. Dr. Sandeep Sharma, District Language Officer, Ludhiana and S.
Raghbir Singh Mehmi, eminent mini story writer were the main speakers on the occasion.
The lecture commenced with the college Prayer 'Deh Shiva Bar Mohi Ihai' followed by formal
welcome of the chief guests by Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the college. Dr. Sandeep
Sharma in his interaction encouraged the students to read good books and do this practice at the
habitual level. S. Raghbir Singh Mehmi shared his personal life experiences with the audience
and said that every person can be a writer. Every person who works in an office, a street worker,
a daily wage earner can write about his daily life experiences and can become a good writer.
On this occasion, a book exhibition was also organized by the library department of the College,
in which books related to Punjabi, Hindi and English literature, religion, History, Education and
Psychology etc. were displayed for the faculty as well as students. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha
congratulated Dr. Jagjit Singh, S. Jagtar Singh and S. Hardeep Singh from Punjabi and Library
Department respectively for organizing the event successfully. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
The new academic session of B.Ed., M. Ed. and P. G. Diploma in Guidance and Counseling commenced with Path of Sri Sukhmani Sahib at G. H. G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar. All the students and staff members recited path of Sri Sukhmani Sahib in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Dr. Jagjit Singh, Asst. Prof. in the College along with the students performed Kirtan after the path. To seek the blessings of Almighty for the successful completion of new session, faculty members and students of the College also paid obeisance at Gurudwara Chevin Patshahi, Gurusar Sadhar. Principal of the college Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha informed that the orientation programme for the above courses is already running since 28th September, 2022. He further added that students are taken to the Gurdwara Sahib every year before classes start formally. Guru Ka Langar was also organized on the occasion.
An awareness campaign was conducted by volunteers of NSS units (Boys and Girls) of Guru Hargobind Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar Ludhiana to prevent the deadly effects of stubble burning. Under this campaign, the volunteers visited about ten villages of the area and interacted with about six hundred farmers, alerting them of the deadly effects of stubble burning and persuade them not to burn stubble in the future. Appreciating this awareness campaign, College Principal Dr. Harpreet Singh said that along with providing education, it is also our responsibility to make people aware about social problems. Environmentalists are predicting an increase in respiratory problems in the future due to stubble burning. In such a situation, this campaign conducted by the NSS units is highly commendable. He further adds that these units operating in the college are continuously conducting such programs. A few days ago, an oath-taking ceremony was held by these units to follow the path of non-violence shown by Mahatma Gandhi and stay away from drugs. On this occasion Prof. Pawanveer Singh, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Prof. Vishavpreet Kaur and Prof. Kanwaljit Kaur were also present.
Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges (Degree, Education and Pharmacy) Gurusar Sadhar organized a blood donation camp with the support of NSS unit and MLT department in collaboration with life share (NGO), on 1 st October, 2022. This camp was inaugurated by the principal of the degree college, Dr. Harpreet Singh. Addressing the students, he said that blood donation is called “Mahadana” because it can save the life of another person, while any other kind of donation cannot give a life donation. To encourage students, he further adds that they are doing a great job by donating blood. The staff of’ Life Share Shri Raghunath Hospital Society’ (RG) completed all the procedures of this camp. 31 students donated blood in this camp. On this occasion Dr. Harpreet Singh, Satwinder Kaur, Principal Guru Hargobind Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Prof. Jaswant Singh, Prof. Pawanveer Singh, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Prof. Vishwapreet Kaur, Dr. Mannu Chadha, Dr. Jasleen Kaur, Prof. Rachpal Singh were also present.
G.H.G. Khalsa Colleges Gurusar Sadhar commemorated 115th birth anniversary of Shaheed
Bhagat Singh as per the instructions of DPI (Colleges), Government of Punjab. The day was
jointly celebrated by the G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, G.H.G. Khalsa College, and
G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy. A bicycle rally was taken out by the students and teachers
at 7.00 am. This rally was flagged off from G.H.G. Khalsa College to G. H. G. Khalsa College of
Education and passing through Exchange Road, finally reached Degree College.
A special lecture related to the life of Shaheed Bhagat Singh was organized at 11.00 on the
initiative of Punjabi Sahitya Sabha of the college, the topic of which was 'A Glimpse on the Life
of Shaheed Bhagat Singh'. Prof. Gurpreet Singh, Head of Punjabi Department, Govind National
College, Narangwal, Ludhiana, was the guest speaker on the occasion. Addressing the students,
Prof. Gurpreet Singh said that Bhagat Singh's life was greatly influenced by the social conditions
of that time. Bhagat Singh was a great reader; he believed that inequality can be eradicated only
through the power of knowledge. In response to a question, he said that religion is a personal
matter of a person. Religion teaches practical life, in which Bhagat Singh believed. Principal of
the college Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha while speaking on the occasion said that Bhagat Singh is the
name of an ideology. Dr. Garcha also expressed gratitude to the speaker of the day Prof.
Gurpreet Singh for throwing light on the ideology of S. Bhagat Singh.
A play called 'Sleeping Revolution' was staged by the theatre department of the college. S.
Manjit Singh Gill, President College Governing Council and Dr. S. S. Thind, Secretary College
Governing Council appreciated the efforts of faculty and the students for organizing the events.
B.Ed. students of G. H. G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar performed splendidly in the District Level Sports Competitions under “Khela Vatan Punjab Dian” held at Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana on September 22, 2022. Uttampreet Singh, a student of B.Ed. Semester III won Gold medal in Hockey. Uttampreet Singh has also been selected for the state level tournament. While Amandeep Kaur also a student of B.Ed. semester III won bronze medal in 800 meter race. Students of the College participated in the other sports events also. Parminder Singh took part in the Long Jump and Harmandeep Kaur competed in the 100 m race. College Governing Council President S. Manjit Singh Gill and Secretary Dr. S.S. Thind congratulated the winners as well as participants of the event. on practical knowledge. He said that in future also the College will organize such type of mega
placement drives so that maximum students may be benefitted.
B.Ed. students of G. H. G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar
performed splendidly in the Block Level Sports Competition under “Khela Vatan
Punjab Dian” held at G.H.G. Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar. The students
participated in 21-40 age sports category. In Tug of War event the boys' team of
the College won the first position while the girls’ team secured second place in the
event. B. Ed Semester III student Harman Kaur won first position in athletics (100
meter race) while Amandeep Kaur secured first place in 800 meter race.
Parminder Singh and Kamaldeep Singh of B.Ed Semester III secured second
position in Long Jump and Hammer Throw respectively.
The winners at the Block Level competition will further compete at the district
level competitions. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the College congratulated
Mr. Sukhchain Singh Gill, Instructor Physical Education in the College and all the
winners on this wonderful achievement. He also wished them good luck for
upcoming sports competition at district level.
Language Clubs of the G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized a remarkable function to celebrate Teachers' Day on September 5th, 2022. The event began with recitation of the College Shabad followed by paying floral tributes to Dr. Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan and lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Dr. Jagjit Singh from Punjabi Sahitya Sabha of the College formally welcomed all the students and faculty members present on the occasion. A cultural programme was organized in which students of M.Ed IIIrd Semester gave a wonderful performance by sharing their views on the Teachers’ day in the form of poem recitations, power point presentations and speeches to highlight the importance of teachers in the life of students. Kiranpreet Kaur and Ekamjit Kaur enthralled the audience with their melodious song dedicated to the teachers. Juhi Yadav presented a very beautiful poem expressing her gratitude towards teachers. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the college, through his speech acknowledged the role played by teachers in building the society. He said that our teachers constitute our most precious human resource as we look towards them to guide the children so that each one may become a person of character and develop into an upright citizen leading a life of dignity and self-respect. In order to help youngsters to showcase their talent and help in their overall development Panjab University, Chandigarh organizes Youth and Heritage Festival on an annual basis in different zones. A meeting of Principals and contingent in-charge of the Education colleges of Zone –B, chaired by Dr. Rohit Kumar Sharma, Director, Youth Welfare Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh was held at G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar Ludhiana on August 12, 2022 to finalize the host college and date of Zonal Youth Festival. At the outset Dr. Rachhpal Singh, Youth Festival Incharge in the College formally welcomed Dr. Rohit Kumar Sharma and all the representatives from the education Colleges of Zone-B. Dr. Rohit Kumar Sharma in his interaction invited suggestions from the participants for smooth conduct of the Festival. Regarding the preparation at University Level, Dr. Rohit elaborated that planning of Zonal and Interzonal Youth Festival at University level is going at a good pace and various committees have already been framed in this regard. Dr. Rohit Kumar Sharma stressed on the need of maximum participation of the students in the Youth and Heritage Festival so that they must be aware of their traditions and culture. It was unanimously decided in the meeting that S.D.S. College of Education for Women, Lopon will organize the Zonal Youth Festival of Zone B of Education Colleges from October 14- 16, 2022. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the College presented vote of thanks at the end of the meeting.
Students and faculty of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar celebrated 75 th Independence Day with full fervour. A series of activities like Online Quiz, Slogan Writing and Poster Making competitions, best selfie with national flag competition, tree plantation drives etc. were organized jointly by literary clubs, Social Vision Club, Red Ribbon Club, NSS Unit and Fine Arts society of the college. The activities were organized to celebrate Iconic Week ( August 8-14,2022) as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and as per the directions of Department of Youth Welfare Services, Punjab and Department of Youth Affairs Govt. of India. In the slogan writing competition Ruby and Sara Karim won the first position while Daljit Kaur and Gurpreet were adjudged as the second and third winner. In Poster Making competition Prabhdeep Kaur secured the first position while Ramandeep Kaur and Amandeep Kaur bagged the second and third position respectively. In the selfie with national flag competition Ramandeep Kaur was declared as the winner. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the College congratulated the students and faculty on the 75 th Independence Day and paid rich tribute to the national heroes and the freedom fighters as well as thousands of innocent people who sacrificed their lives to gain the independence. Dr. S.S Thind, Secretary College Governing Council congratulated the winners as well as the participants of the competitions. He also lauded the efforts of faculty for successfully organizing the competitions.
G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar in collaboration with North Zone Cultural
Centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India) and SDM office Raikot organized a cultural
Programme to commemorate Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign. Har Ghar Tiranga is a campaign
under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and
to hoist it to mark the 75 th Year of India’s Independence. The programme commenced with the
College Shabad followed by formal welcome of Guests by Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of
the College.
Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha in his address appreciated the efforts of Cultural Committee of the
College for organizing the event and further encouraged all the students, teachers and non-
teaching staff of the college to exhibit their national pride by hoisting the national flag at their
respective homes. The cultural team from North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala gave mesmerizing
performance on Rajasthani and Punjabi Folk Song, Kavishari etc. Dr. Som Pal Hira spell
bounded the audience with his performance in One Act Play on the Theme “Sarhada Haur Ve
Ne” which was presented by The Sirjana Art Group form Raikot. The dignitaries present on the
occasion included Mr. Gurnaib Singh, Principal Ajitsar Khalsa School, Jangpur, Dr. Harpreet
Singh, Principal G.H.G. Khalsa College, Dr. Satwinder Kaur, Principal G.H.G. Khalsa College
of Pharmacy, S. Jugraj Singh, Former Principal, G.H.G. Khalsa School, S. Navjot Singh Mander
and the faculty from sister institutes.
The faculty and students of B.Ed. and M.Ed.1 st year of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education,
Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana gave a fond send off to the B.Ed. and M.Ed. 2 nd year students by
organizing a farewell party on June 22, 2022. The hall of the college reverberated with
enthusiasm and gusto of the students. The programme commenced with the college prayer
followed by a cultural event in which the students performed songs, gazals, presented dances and
organised many games.
The grand cultural show presented by the students made the occasion incredible and lively. The
students of the outgoing class delivered speeches expressing gratitude to the mentor teachers for
their invaluable contribution in making this journey a memorable one. Ashutosh and Jaspreet
Kaur of B.Ed. 2 nd year were adjudged as the Mr. and Miss. Farewell .Dr Pargat Singh Garcha,
Principal of the College wished the students good luck for their future endeavors and advised
them that hard work, perseverance and dedication are the requisites for treading ahead.
Red Ribbon Club and NSS wing of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar celebrated World Environment Day by organizing poster making, e-poster making and PowerPoint Presentation competition. The competition was organized as per the directions of Asst. Director, Youth Welfare Services, Ludhiana. Dr. Manu Chadha, Incharge Red Ribbon Club of the college said that 45 students from 30 different colleges across the nation participated in the competition. Yogita Singh from Pushpanjali College of Education, Vaisai won first place in Power Point Presentation Competition. Harkiran Kaur, of the Host College and Gautam Jain, of Sri Atam Vallabh Jain College, Ludhiana came second and Diksha Sharma from Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana and Baldeep Singh, a student of B.C.M. College of Education, Ludhiana secured third place. Varsha, a student of Government State College of Education, Patiala, was given the appreciation Award. In the poster competition, Harmanjot Kaur from Paradise College of Education, Jalandhar bagged the first prize, Komal Mittal from Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana and Bawanpreet Kaur from Khalsa College of Education, Amritsar bagged the second and third prize respectively. In the e-poster making categoty Prerna Shukla from the Host College won the first prize while Anita from G.T.B. Khalsa College of Education, Dasuya won second prize. Asheeta and Himanshu from Paradise College of Education, Jalandhar and the Host College respectively won the third prize. Apart from this, Sakshi Sharma from Shivalik Hills College of Education and Khushnaseeb Rahanu from D. A.V. College of Education Hoshiarpur were given appreciation prizes. Dr. Jasleen Kaur and Dr. Rachpal Singh, Programme Officer NSS wing of the College said that as a part of the environment day celebration more than 30 students of the college donated plants to the College. The students have taken an oath that they will take care of their own plant as long as their stay in the College and after the completion of the degree, the responsibility of that plant will be given to the gardener. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha in his address congratulated the students and the faculty for organizing the event for the cause of environment. He also appreciated the efforts of Mr. Sukhchain Singh Gill, Physical Education instructor in the College for motivating the students for conducting tree plantation drive. He added that the main objective behind celebrating the event was to highlight the importance of the environment and remind the society that we should not take the nature for granted.
In order to spread awareness related to tremendous health and environmental benefits of cycling, Red Ribbon Club and N.S.S. wing of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar celebrated World Bicycle Day with great enthusiasm on June 03, 2022. Every year, On June 3 the world celebrates 'World Bicycle Day' to raise awareness about cycling and its benefits on health and mental wellbeing. The students of B.Ed and M. Ed classes enjoyed the bicycle ride in their locality and displayed posters to encourage people for more and more use of bicycle in their day today life. This year the theme of this special day is “Celebrating the Affordable Route to Sustainability”. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of the students and faculty to celebrate the World Bicycle Day for the cause of environment. He further added that riding a bicycle is healthy, fun, and a low-impact form of exercise for all ages. He said that cycling is easy to fit into one’s daily routine by riding to the park, neighbourhood shop, or workplace etc. He encouraged the students and faculty to adopt the good practice of cycling in their daily life in order to enjoy good health and to contribute towards the sustainable environment.
G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar observed “World No Tobacco Day” as per
the directions of Asst. Director, Department of Youth Welfare Services, Ludhiana. World No
Tobacco is observed every year on 31st May, to raise awareness on harmful and deadly effects of
tobacco and discourage its use in any form. This year the theme of World No Tobacco Day 2022
is “Tobacco: Threat to our Environment”. In order to observe the day, N.S.S Wing and Red
Ribbon Club of the College organized a special lecture and poster making competition on the
theme “Say No to Tobacco”. In the awareness lecture, Mr. Rahul, Ms. Simranpreet Kaur and Mr.
Kulwinder Singh from CHC Sadhar appraised the students about the harmful effects of smoking
and other tobacco products. They further said that there is a dire need to make the society aware
about this deadly product. They urged the students to make the people in their vicinity aware
about the noxious effects of Tobacco use. A community campaign was also held to mark the day
where students of B.Ed. and M.Ed. educated the people in their surrounding areas regarding the
ill effects of tobacco and the ways to get rid of its use. Dr. H.S Brar, Former Principal of the
College was present on the occasion along with the faculty members and the students. Dr. Jagjit
Singh, Asst. Prof. in the college extended vote of thanks at the end of the lecture.
In the poster making competition, Sumandip Kaur and Shefali Mehra were awarded with the
first prize while Ramanpreet Kaur and Ramandeep Kaur secured the second position. Manjot
Kaur and Kiranjit Kaur got third position in the competition. Dr, Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal
of the College appreciated the efforts of NSS Wing and Red Ribbon Club for observing the day.
He also congratulated the Coordinators Dr. Manu Chadha, Dr. Jasleen Kaur and Dr. Rachhpal
Singh for organizing the various events dedicated to World No Tobacco Day.
G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized a workshop on Intellectual
Property Rights (IPR) and Patents Fillings on May 27, 2022. The workshop was organized in
collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management
(RGNIIPM), Govt. of India, Nagpur. Dr. Bharat N Suryawanshi, Asst. Controller, of patents and
designs, RGNIIPM, Nagpur was the resource person on the occasion. The lecture commenced by
seeking blessings from Almighty in the form of College Prayer. Dr. Jagjit Singh, Asst. Prof. in
the College shared the objectives of the workshop and presented a formal welcome to the
resource person of the day.
Dr. Bharat started his lecture by giving a detail explanation about the term Intellectual Property
Rights (IPR) and Patent. He made the participants aware about the difference between Invention
and Discovery. Dr. Bharat discussed about the most common mistakes committed by an inventor
in the process of filling for patent. While further elaborating about the theme of the workshop Dr.
Bharat said that a single product can be protected by more than one IPR. He also discussed about
the Patent Grant Procedure in detail. The Role of IPR and Patent System was elaborated by Dr.
Bharat by saying that it is helpful in encouragement for improvement of technology, making
profits or earning royalty through putting the invention into practice and providing rewards as
exclusive rights for disclosure. More than 200 participants including the faculty and students
from the college participated in the workshop. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the College
congratulated the coordinators Dr. Ramandeep Kaur and Dr. Jagjit Singh for successfully
organizing the workshop.
Red Ribbon Club and NSS Wing of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar
organized an extension lecture to mark the Anti-terrorism Day which is observed on May 21
every year. Mr. Rohit Sharma, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Political Science, Arya College, Ludhiana
was resource person on the occasion. At the outset Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the
college, Dr. Manu Chadha, Incharge Red Ribbon Club of the college, Dr. Rachhpal Singh and
Dr. Jasleen Kaur, NSS Programme Officers presented a bouquet of flowers to the resource
person of the day. Dr. Manu Chadha also shared a brief resume of Mr. Rohit Sharma with the
students. Later on Harkiran Kaur of B.Ed 2 nd year led the students and faculty for taking the
pledge for promotion of peace and harmony in the society and condemnation of all forms of
violence and terrorism.
Mr. Rohit Sharma commenced his lecture by showing a video on the theme of the lecture. Mr.
Rohit further through his presentation elaborated on the origin of terrorism, the motives and
consequences of terrorism including drug terrorism. He encouraged the students to fight against
anti-social activities and terrorism. He also emphasized the role played by youth to make the
society free from violence and thereby safeguard the interest of common people. Vote of thanks
was presented by Dr. Rachhpal Singh at the end of the lecture. Students of M.ED and B.Ed 1 st
and 2 nd year along with faculty members were present on the occasion.
Red Ribbon Club of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar in collaboration with
Madam Marie Curie Science Club organized a special Lecture on May 18, 2022 to mark World
Thalassemia Day. World Thalassemia Day is observed every year on May 8 to increase
awareness about this disease among common public. The theme for this year’s activities was ‘Be
Aware, Share, Care: Working with the Global Community As One To Improve Thalassemia
Knowledge’.
The lecture was organized as per the directions of Youth Welfare Services, Ludhiana. Dr. Manu
Chadha, Associate Prof. in the college and incharge Red Ribbon Club through her lecture made
the students as well as faculty aware about “Thalassemia” which is an inherited disorder caused
due to mutation in DNA, as a result of which a person suffers from haemolytic anaemia i.e. loss
of healthy RBC’s in bloodstream. She highlighted the various solutions to cure this disorder
which include providing less iron diet to the patients and regular blood transfusions. She further
told that healthy diet and regular exercise may also be of great help in this regard. Dr. Pargat
Singh Garcha, Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of Red Ribbon Club and the
Madam Marie Curie Club for creating awareness about this disease. Students of B.Ed. and M.Ed.
1st and 2nd year along with the faculty members were present on the occasion.
The English, Hindi and Punjabi language department of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized a poem recitation event under the Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat Campaign. The theme of the event was “Hasda Punjab Mera Khuab”. At the outset, Dr. Mini Sharma, Nodal officer for the Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat Campaign in the college, threw light on the objectives of the campaign. In the poem recitation event, Prerna Shukla of B.Ed 2 nd year recited a beautiful poem on the theme “Kurbani Di Dharti Punjab”, while another student Jaspreet Kaur of B.Ed 2 nd year recited the poem with the theme “Sohna Desh Punjab” which is a self-composed poem of another student Happy Sohal. Ashutosh of B.Ed 2 nd year described the wonderful culture of Punjab through his poem “Punjab”. Tanvi of B.Ed 1 st year shared her views on the “Vartman Punjab” through her poem .Gagandeep Kaur another student of B.Ed. 1 st year also shared the vivid picture of the geography and culture of Punjab through her composition on the topic “Mera Punjab”. Students of B.Ed. and M.Ed. 1 st and 2 nd year along with the faculty members enthusiastically took part in this poetical event. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the College congratulated the English Literary Society, Punjabi and Hindi Shatiya Sabha of the college for successfully organizing the event.
The Research Cell of GHG Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized a 7 days
Value added course on “Basics of Research: Writing Research Proposal & Thesis Writing” from
May 4-11, 2022 through blended mode. The purpose of this course was to familiarize the
students in detail with nuances of research and to widen their educational experience. This Value
Added Course was designed in a systematic manner whereby all important aspects of writing a
Research Proposal and Thesis writing were deliberated upon. A panel of experts was arranged
who took the details of all the essential areas of research writing.
In the first session of the Course, Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal, GHG Khalsa College of
Education, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana deliberated on the topic "Selection of Research Problem
and Preparation for Research Proposal". He elaborated the Basic Components of Research
(problem, activity, systematic, scientific, process, solution).
Session II of the value added course witnessed deliberations by Dr. Yogesh Sharma, Associate
Professor, Ramgarhia College of Education, Phagwara on the topic" Framing Research
Objectives and Hypotheses". He threw light on the concept of research objectives and research
questions.
In the third session, Dr. Anshu Narad, Associate Professor, Lovely Professional University,
Phagwara interacted with the students on the topic "Styles of References with special reference
to APA". She made students familiar with terms like APA Style, Plagiarism, Academic Integrity,
Documentation etc.
In the fourth session, Dr. Tarlok Bandhu, Principal, Khalsa College of Education, Sri Muktsar,
Sahib pondered upon the topic "Review of literature: online and offline resources". Resource
person took the entire audience in the pool of online resources by giving examples of many
websites like Shodhganga, Research gate, PU Library, JNU Library, Ambedkar University Delhi,
National Institute of educational Planning and administration and Azim Premji Library etc. In the
5th session of the Value Added Course, Dr. Mohua Khosla, Associate Prof., Malwa College of
Education, Ludhiana shared her expertise on the topic "Sampling Techniques and data
Collection". In the VI session of the course Dr. Avninder Singh, Associate Professor, Malwa
College of Education, Ludhiana, acted as the resource person and deliberated on the topic
"Research Design: Qualitative, Quantitative and Mixed method". The concluding session of the
Value added course witnessed the deliberation by Dr. Meenu Singla, Assistant Prof. Aurobindo
College of Commerce and Management. She reflected upon the topic “SPSS and its use”. She
through her deliberation demonstrated the working of SPSS. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal
of the college congratulated the organizing committee comprising of Dr. Manu Chadha, Dr.
Rachhpal Singh, Dr. Jasleen Kaur and Dr. Ramandeep Kaur Sidhu for their wonderful efforts for
the cause of research in the form of this Value Added Course.
English Literary Society of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar celebrated English Language Day on April 23, 2022 which is traditionally observed as the birth and death anniversary of William Shakespeare -a famous English playwright, poet and actor. The celebration was organized at Govt. High Smart School, Aitiana, Ludhiana and Dashmesh Khalsa Sr. Sec. School Heran in order to inform students about the history, culture and achievements associated with English language. Students of B.Ed 1 st year organized a special programme for the school students dedicated to the English Language. Tanvi Sharma and Kuljeet Kaur, B.Ed. students of the college shared historical background of celebrating English language day while Rajdeep Kaur, discussed the life history of William Shakespeare. Aashdeep Kaur delivered a speech on the literary work of William Shakespeare and highlighted that his work left an indelible impact on English Language and his insurmountable contribution to the field of literature played a key role in popularizing the language. Students of both the schools also participated in the language games organized by Manjot Kaur, Deepali, Lovepreet Singh, Kamalpreet Kaur and Manpreet Kaur (B.Ed. students). Dr. Mini Sharma, Assistant professor in the college and Head, English Literary Society while addressing the students suggested ways to improve the communication skills in English language. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the college congratulated and appreciated the efforts of English Literary Society for organizing the event successfully. G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized its Annual Prize Distribution and
farewell function on April 9, 2022 under the able guidance of Principal, Dr. Pargat Singh
Garcha. The event was graced by Mrs. Saravjit Kaur Manuke, Member of Punjab Legislative
Assembly, Jagraon as Chief Guest. The function commenced with the recitation of College
Shabad. A warm and hearty welcome was extended by Principal Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha to the
Chief Guest and the other guests present on the occasion which was followed by presentation of
college report in which he highlighted the achievement of students in academics, sports and
cultural arena.
Prizes for academic, co-curricular and sports achievements were distributed among the students
for the session 2020-21, 2021-22. A cultural programme was also organized on the occasion in
which students of B.Ed and M.Ed gave mesmerizing performance on the group dance and
singing events.
In his presidential address, Mrs. Saravjit Kaur Manuke congratulated the young achievers and
wished them best of luck by saying that the responsibility of spreading education lies on their
shoulder .She further said that the a teacher is a role model for his/her students and there is no
