The college is located in village Sadhar, which is 28 Kmts. from Ludhiana on Ludhiana-Raikot-Barnala Road. This institution is associated with the name of Sri Guru HarGobind Sahib Ji, the sixth Guru, who once visited this place in 1633, symbol of Miri-Piri i.e. a combination of Spiritual as well as temporal authority. People of the area are grateful to late Nihang Shamsher Singh who selected this place as the nucleus of his spiritual and great educational adventure. In 1921, he started a modest Gurmukhi Pathshala( Vernacular primary school). In 1948, Intermediate College was started and later on, it became a Degree College i.e GHG Khalsa College.

INFLIBNET's N-LIST programme enables the library clientele to have access to more than 6000 e-journals and nearly 100000 e-books. This college is a member of British Council Library that enables us to have a wider access to the knowledge.
The needy and meritorious students are issued books from the book bank for the entire academic session on the recommendation of the tutor and with the permission of the Principal.
On the recommendation of the tutor and with the permission of the Principal, regular students of the college can become the members of this library by filling the prescribed form. For this they will have to adhere to the university regulations. The members of this library will be issued university roll numbers at the end of the year, after they clear all the library dues.
Library brings academic ambience in the educational institutions. Library "The Reservoir of Knowledge" has a paradigm shift from document to information. The library building and material inside it, no longer define the concept of academic library in the present scenario. At present the National Cadet Corps is being run in our college. Cadets are trained for parade and various certification examinations. Cadets are also sent to various camps for physical training, weapon training, rock climbing, trekking, river rafting and paragliding etc.

Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges (Degree, Education and Pharmacy) celebrated the 'Avatar Purab' of the first Patsahi, Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji with great reverence and fanfare like every year. After completion of three days Akhand Path Sahib, Shabad Kirtan was performed by students of the colleges in Nihang Shamsher Singh Hall. On this occasion, Dr. Harpreet Singh ,Principal of Degree College, said that Guru Nanak Sahib had taken us out of the problems but today we are again trapped in them. He further adds that the purpose of celebrating Gurpurab is also that we can avoid these problems by following the path shown by Guru Sahib. While Conducting the entire event, Dr. Sohan Singh said that it is very satisfying that we all are celebrating the incarnation of Guru Nanak Sahib, the common leader of mankind. Mr. Manjit Singh Gill, President, College Governing Counsil, Principals, staff and students of all the three colleges along with the members of the college governing council were also present on this occasion. After the end of the program, Guru Ka Langar was served.
An awareness campaign was conducted by volunteers of NSS units (Boys and Girls) of Guru Hargobind Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar Ludhiana to prevent the deadly effects of stubble burning. Under this campaign, the volunteers visited about ten villages of the area and interacted with about six hundred farmers, alerting them of the deadly effects of stubble burning and persuade them not to burn stubble in the future. Appreciating this awareness campaign, College Principal Dr. Harpreet Singh said that along with providing education, it is also our responsibility to make people aware about social problems. Environmentalists are predicting an increase in respiratory problems in the future due to stubble burning. In such a situation, this campaign conducted by the NSS units is highly commendable. He further adds that these units operating in the college are continuously conducting such programs. A few days ago, an oath-taking ceremony was held by these units to follow the path of non-violence shown by Mahatma Gandhi and stay away from drugs. On this occasion Prof. Pawanveer Singh, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Prof. Vishavpreet Kaur and Prof. Kanwaljit Kaur were also present.
Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges (Degree, Education and Pharmacy) Gurusar Sadhar organized a blood donation camp with the support of NSS unit and MLT department in collaboration with life share (NGO), on 1 st October, 2022. This camp was inaugurated by the principal of the degree college, Dr. Harpreet Singh. Addressing the students, he said that blood donation is called “Mahadana” because it can save the life of another person, while any other kind of donation cannot give a life donation. To encourage students, he further adds that they are doing a great job by donating blood. The staff of’ Life Share Shri Raghunath Hospital Society’ (RG) completed all the procedures of this camp. 31 students donated blood in this camp. On this occasion Dr. Harpreet Singh, Satwinder Kaur, Principal Guru Hargobind Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Prof. Jaswant Singh, Prof. Pawanveer Singh, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Prof. Vishwapreet Kaur, Dr. Mannu Chadha, Dr. Jasleen Kaur, Prof. Rachpal Singh were also present.
Red Ribbon Club and NSS wing of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar celebrated World Environment Day by organizing poster making, e-poster making and PowerPoint Presentation competition. The competition was organized as per the directions of Asst. Director, Youth Welfare Services, Ludhiana. Dr. Manu Chadha, Incharge Red Ribbon Club of the college said that 45 students from 30 different colleges across the nation participated in the competition. Yogita Singh from Pushpanjali College of Education, Vaisai won first place in Power Point Presentation Competition. Harkiran Kaur, of the Host College and Gautam Jain, of Sri Atam Vallabh Jain College, Ludhiana came second and Diksha Sharma from Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana and Baldeep Singh, a student of B.C.M. College of Education, Ludhiana secured third place. Varsha, a student of Government State College of Education, Patiala, was given the appreciation Award. In the poster competition, Harmanjot Kaur from Paradise College of Education, Jalandhar bagged the first prize, Komal Mittal from Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana and Bawanpreet Kaur from Khalsa College of Education, Amritsar bagged the second and third prize respectively. In the e-poster making categoty Prerna Shukla from the Host College won the first prize while Anita from G.T.B. Khalsa College of Education, Dasuya won second prize. Asheeta and Himanshu from Paradise College of Education, Jalandhar and the Host College respectively won the third prize. Apart from this, Sakshi Sharma from Shivalik Hills College of Education and Khushnaseeb Rahanu from D. A.V. College of Education Hoshiarpur were given appreciation prizes. Dr. Jasleen Kaur and Dr. Rachpal Singh, Programme Officer NSS wing of the College said that as a part of the environment day celebration more than 30 students of the college donated plants to the College. The students have taken an oath that they will take care of their own plant as long as their stay in the College and after the completion of the degree, the responsibility of that plant will be given to the gardener. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha in his address congratulated the students and the faculty for organizing the event for the cause of environment. He also appreciated the efforts of Mr. Sukhchain Singh Gill, Physical Education instructor in the College for motivating the students for conducting tree plantation drive. He added that the main objective behind celebrating the event was to highlight the importance of the environment and remind the society that we should not take the nature for granted.
In order to spread awareness related to tremendous health and environmental benefits of cycling, Red Ribbon Club and N.S.S. wing of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar celebrated World Bicycle Day with great enthusiasm on June 03, 2022. Every year, On June 3 the world celebrates 'World Bicycle Day' to raise awareness about cycling and its benefits on health and mental wellbeing. The students of B.Ed and M. Ed classes enjoyed the bicycle ride in their locality and displayed posters to encourage people for more and more use of bicycle in their day today life. This year the theme of this special day is “Celebrating the Affordable Route to Sustainability”. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of the students and faculty to celebrate the World Bicycle Day for the cause of environment. He further added that riding a bicycle is healthy, fun, and a low-impact form of exercise for all ages. He said that cycling is easy to fit into one’s daily routine by riding to the park, neighbourhood shop, or workplace etc. He encouraged the students and faculty to adopt the good practice of cycling in their daily life in order to enjoy good health and to contribute towards the sustainable environment.
G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized a workshop on Intellectual
Property Rights (IPR) and Patents Fillings on May 27, 2022. The workshop was organized in
collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management
(RGNIIPM), Govt. of India, Nagpur. Dr. Bharat N Suryawanshi, Asst. Controller, of patents and
designs, RGNIIPM, Nagpur was the resource person on the occasion. The lecture commenced by
seeking blessings from Almighty in the form of College Prayer. Dr. Jagjit Singh, Asst. Prof. in
the College shared the objectives of the workshop and presented a formal welcome to the
resource person of the day.
Dr. Bharat started his lecture by giving a detail explanation about the term Intellectual Property
Rights (IPR) and Patent. He made the participants aware about the difference between Invention
and Discovery. Dr. Bharat discussed about the most common mistakes committed by an inventor
in the process of filling for patent. While further elaborating about the theme of the workshop Dr.
Bharat said that a single product can be protected by more than one IPR. He also discussed about
the Patent Grant Procedure in detail. The Role of IPR and Patent System was elaborated by Dr.
Bharat by saying that it is helpful in encouragement for improvement of technology, making
profits or earning royalty through putting the invention into practice and providing rewards as
exclusive rights for disclosure. More than 200 participants including the faculty and students
from the college participated in the workshop. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the College
congratulated the coordinators Dr. Ramandeep Kaur and Dr. Jagjit Singh for successfully
organizing the workshop.
Red Ribbon Club and NSS Wing of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar
organized an extension lecture to mark the Anti-terrorism Day which is observed on May 21
every year. Mr. Rohit Sharma, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Political Science, Arya College, Ludhiana
was resource person on the occasion. At the outset Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the
college, Dr. Manu Chadha, Incharge Red Ribbon Club of the college, Dr. Rachhpal Singh and
Dr. Jasleen Kaur, NSS Programme Officers presented a bouquet of flowers to the resource
person of the day. Dr. Manu Chadha also shared a brief resume of Mr. Rohit Sharma with the
students. Later on Harkiran Kaur of B.Ed 2 nd year led the students and faculty for taking the
pledge for promotion of peace and harmony in the society and condemnation of all forms of
violence and terrorism.
Mr. Rohit Sharma commenced his lecture by showing a video on the theme of the lecture. Mr.
Rohit further through his presentation elaborated on the origin of terrorism, the motives and
consequences of terrorism including drug terrorism. He encouraged the students to fight against
anti-social activities and terrorism. He also emphasized the role played by youth to make the
society free from violence and thereby safeguard the interest of common people. Vote of thanks
was presented by Dr. Rachhpal Singh at the end of the lecture. Students of M.ED and B.Ed 1 st
and 2 nd year along with faculty members were present on the occasion.
Red Ribbon Club of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar in collaboration with
Madam Marie Curie Science Club organized a special Lecture on May 18, 2022 to mark World
Thalassemia Day. World Thalassemia Day is observed every year on May 8 to increase
awareness about this disease among common public. The theme for this year’s activities was ‘Be
Aware, Share, Care: Working with the Global Community As One To Improve Thalassemia
Knowledge’.
The lecture was organized as per the directions of Youth Welfare Services, Ludhiana. Dr. Manu
Chadha, Associate Prof. in the college and incharge Red Ribbon Club through her lecture made
the students as well as faculty aware about “Thalassemia” which is an inherited disorder caused
due to mutation in DNA, as a result of which a person suffers from haemolytic anaemia i.e. loss
of healthy RBC’s in bloodstream. She highlighted the various solutions to cure this disorder
which include providing less iron diet to the patients and regular blood transfusions. She further
told that healthy diet and regular exercise may also be of great help in this regard. Dr. Pargat
Singh Garcha, Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of Red Ribbon Club and the
Madam Marie Curie Club for creating awareness about this disease. Students of B.Ed. and M.Ed.
1st and 2nd year along with the faculty members were present on the occasion.
The English, Hindi and Punjabi language department of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized a poem recitation event under the Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat Campaign. The theme of the event was “Hasda Punjab Mera Khuab”. At the outset, Dr. Mini Sharma, Nodal officer for the Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat Campaign in the college, threw light on the objectives of the campaign. In the poem recitation event, Prerna Shukla of B.Ed 2 nd year recited a beautiful poem on the theme “Kurbani Di Dharti Punjab”, while another student Jaspreet Kaur of B.Ed 2 nd year recited the poem with the theme “Sohna Desh Punjab” which is a self-composed poem of another student Happy Sohal. Ashutosh of B.Ed 2 nd year described the wonderful culture of Punjab through his poem “Punjab”. Tanvi of B.Ed 1 st year shared her views on the “Vartman Punjab” through her poem .Gagandeep Kaur another student of B.Ed. 1 st year also shared the vivid picture of the geography and culture of Punjab through her composition on the topic “Mera Punjab”. Students of B.Ed. and M.Ed. 1 st and 2 nd year along with the faculty members enthusiastically took part in this poetical event. English Literary Society of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar celebrated English Language Day on April 23, 2022 which is traditionally observed as the birth and death anniversary of William Shakespeare -a famous English playwright, poet and actor. The celebration was organized at Govt. High Smart School, Aitiana, Ludhiana and Dashmesh Khalsa Sr. Sec. School Heran in order to inform students about the history, culture and achievements associated with English language. Students of B.Ed 1 st year organized a special programme for the school students dedicated to the English Language. Tanvi Sharma and Kuljeet Kaur, B.Ed. students of the college shared historical background of celebrating English language day while Rajdeep Kaur, discussed the life history of William Shakespeare. Aashdeep Kaur delivered a speech on the literary work of William Shakespeare and highlighted that his work left an indelible impact on English Language and his insurmountable contribution to the field of literature played a key role in popularizing the language. Students of both the schools also participated in the language games organized by Manjot Kaur, Deepali, Lovepreet Singh, Kamalpreet Kaur and Manpreet Kaur (B.Ed. students). farewell function on April 9, 2022 under the able guidance of Principal, Dr. Pargat Singh
Garcha. The event was graced by Mrs. Saravjit Kaur Manuke, Member of Punjab Legislative
Assembly, Jagraon as Chief Guest. The function commenced with the recitation of College
Shabad. A warm and hearty welcome was extended by Principal Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha to the
Chief Guest and the other guests present on the occasion which was followed by presentation of
college report in which he highlighted the achievement of students in academics, sports and
cultural arena.
Prizes for academic, co-curricular and sports achievements were distributed among the students
for the session 2020-21, 2021-22. A cultural programme was also organized on the occasion in
which students of B.Ed and M.Ed gave mesmerizing performance on the group dance and

One Day Workshop on the Theme “Theatre in Education” was organized by the Performing Arts
Department of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar on April 06, 2022. Dr.
Smriti Bharadwaj, Head Department of Performing Arts, Lovely Professional University,
Phagwara was resource person on the occasion. Dr. Smriti while sharing her views on the role of
education in theatre said that drama is not merely an activity which is performed by a specialist
performer to entertain or preach people in its traditional sense. However it can also be used as an
effective teaching-learning medium which help to engage students at physical, emotional, mental
and social levels, simultaneously. She further elaborated that theatre helps children to overcome
inhibitions and help them express themselves and their aspiration without any fear.
On this occasion, Mr. Gurmeet Singh from Performing Arts Department of the College gave a
mesmerizing performance on one act play. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the College
while extending vote of thanks said that the aim of the workshop was to orient and promote the
use of theatre as an important teaching -learning medium and equipping the students with the
tools of dramatic expressions which can be used for pedagogical purposes. He also congratulated
the Department of Performing Arts of the College for organizing this wonderful event. The event
concluded with the singing of National Anthem.

talk by the famous T.V. and Film Actor, Radio artist, Writer, Poet - Dr. Satish Kumar Verma,
Former Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala. The Guest of Honor for the celebrations was Dr.
Nirmal Johra, Director Youth Welfare Department, Panjab University Chandigarh. The event
was facilitated by Dr. Sandeep Sharma, District Education Officer who formally introduced the
Resource person to the young audience while Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the college
extended a floral and formal welcome to Dr. Satish Kumar Verma and other eminent guests S.
Jasmer Dhatt(Organizer, Miss World Punjaban), Dr. H.S. Brar, (Former Principal), Dr. Harpreet
Singh (Principal, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar) and S. Gurnaib Singh, Principal Sen.
Sec School Jangpur who graced the occasion. Dr. Jagjit Singh(Asst. Prof.) conducted the stage
for the event.
This event titled “Rubaru” was an exclusive and a lifetime opportunity for the student
teachers to meet, listen and learn from a ‘Man of Real Substance’. Dr. Kumar addressed the
future teachers with an enlivening lecture in which he shared his concerns about the status of
women in Indian society. He talked about women being the epitome of wisdom and
intuitiveness, he gave real life examples of heroic deeds of women and how women have always
protected and provided for man’s needs in her different roles of a mother, wife, sister and a
daughter. Dr. Verma boldly criticized the male chauvinistic tendencies and called out the young
men to treat their female counter parts not only as equals, but superior to them. Dr.Verma’s
motivational address was full of narratives from his own experiences of life which he presented
in a manner that the audience was glued to their chairs for the entire discourse.
Dr. Verma advised the youth to make the best of their lives and use their time judiciously.
“Time” he remarked was the most valuable asset of a human being. Every statement made by
him was a quotation to be recorded and shared with the future generation. He strongly opined
that females were born empowered and if the Indian Society and mankind at large has to dwell,
develop and prosper it has to free the women from the shackles of male ego and false social
norms.
Summing up his enriching pearls of exquisite wisdom he advised the young men and women
to follow the ideals laid by Guru Nanak, whom he also idolized in his life. He asked the youth to
invest and save in “Social Banking” which could give unparallel dividends of satisfaction and
contentment. A brief question answer round was also organized at the conclusion of his lecture.
Dr. Satish Kumar Verma left an indelible mark on the minds of the youth and gave them a food
for thought for their lives to come.
Dr. Nirmal Johra, Director Youth Welfare Department, Panjab University Chandigarh also
expressed his views on the occasion and extended his heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Verma for sharing
his repertoire of wisdom, knowledge and practical experiences with the audience.
Muhavaredar vartalap presented by the students of B.Ed and M.Ed and a one act play acted,
directed and executed by Mr. Gurmeet Singh, Assistant Prof. of the college added the cultural
and theatrical flavor to the celebrations, further enhancing the meaning of the “World Theater
Day”.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Satwinder Kaur, Principal, GHG
Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar, followed by the customary singing of National
Anthem by the college group singing team which marked the end of the show.
G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized a special morning assembly, poster making competition and blood donation camp to commemorate the martyrdom of freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru. The assembly was organized by the mentor group “I” under the mentorship of Dr. Mini Sharma, Asst. Prof. in the college. All the students of B.Ed and M.Ed took part in the morning assembly which witnessed the presentations of inspirational speeches and poem recitations dedicated to the life of great martyr Bhagat Singh. Abinash Kaur of B.Ed 2 nd year gave a motivational speech on Sarvodaya Day where she provided a glimpse of the life of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his great contribution in the India’s struggle for freedom. Varun of B.Ed 1 st year recited a beautiful poem dedicated to the martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. On this occasion all the students and faculty members took pledge to work to promote harmony, goodwill and peace in the world. The pledge was orated by Prerna Shukla of B.Ed 2nd year. A poster making competition on the theme Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh was organized by the N.S.S. wing of the college under the able guidance of Programme Officers Dr. Jasleen Kaur, Dr. Rachhpal Singh and Dr. Davinder Kaur Dhatt, Art instructor in the college. A blood donation camp was also organized on the occasion. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the college in his address to the students highlighted that the sacrifices made by our great martyrs will always be remembered by the generations to come. He further added that we need to remember the teachings of our great freedom fighters and should apply the same in our life.
As a mark of tribute in the memory of Former President of College Governing Council, Late. Mr.
Bakhtawar Singh Gill, a commemoration day was celebrated with great devotion and
enthusiasm by Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges, Gurusar Sadhar on March 17, 2022. An inter-
college Gurbani Gayan competitions, free medical checkup and blood donation camp were also
organized. After the bhog of Akhand Path Sahib the students of the Department of Music
enthralled the sangat with Gurbani Kirtan. Later Gurbani Gayan competitions were conducted
in which teams from different colleges participated. The team of Guru Hargobind Khalsa
College, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana, the team of Master Tara Singh Memorial College, Ludhiana
and the team of Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana, got the first, second third positions
respectively. Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Gujarkhan Campus, Ludhiana and Guru Hargobind
Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar secured the fourth and fifth places respectively. In
the individual section, Jaspreet Kaur, Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana achieved the first
position, Simrandeep Kaur, Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Gujrkhan Campus, Ludhiana got the
second and Jasleen Kaur, Master Tara Singh Memorial College, Ludhiana secured the third
place. Dr. Charankamal Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In his address, Charankamal
Singh said that the real religion is the social service and Mr. Bakhtawar Singh Gill earned this
true religion in his lifetime by making invaluable contribution in the society through these
educational institutions.
In the free medical checkup camp, the teams of Dr. Harpreet Singh (M.S. Surgery), Dr. Avinash
Jindal (M.D. Medicine) and Davinder Singh (M.D. Orthopedic) examined 253 patients and
provided free medicines to those in need. The Blood Donation Camp was set up under the
leadership of Dr. Sahil Basal in which 64 students contributed by donating the blood.
The winners of the competition and other service personnel were honored with trophies. Dr.
Pargat Singh Garcha presented a vote of thanks. Among others, Sardarni Mohinder Kaur Gill,
President of College Governing Council, Mr. Manjit Singh Gill, Former Principal, Dr. Swaranjit
Singh Deol, Dr. Balwinderpal Singh and Dr. Harjinder Singh Brar were also present on the
occasion.
Students of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar brought laurels to the college
by performing well in Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) examination. The test was
conducted in December, 2021. 17 students of the college from the current batch have passed the
Test which is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education for appointment as
teachers. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha congratulated the students on this wonderful achievement and
mentioned that their achievement will act as an inspiration for their fellow students.
Dr. Garcha dedicated this spectacular achievement to the work hard put by the faculty members
as well as students. He further added that College in collaboration with Bombay Teachers’
Training College, Mumbai is providing coaching to the students of B.Ed for PTET/CTET
examination to help them for better professional perspectives in teaching. It is worth mentioning
that college made use of various online platforms like Learning Management System, Zoom,
Google Classroom and Whatsapp etc. for providing academic instructions and evaluating
students due to the Covid-19 situation.

directions of Department of Higher Education, Punjab on March 12, 2022. More than 50 alumni
attended the event to relive college years and reconnect with their Alma Mater. The meet was
organized by Alumni Association of the college under the patron ship of Dr. Pargat Singh
Garcha, Principal of the college. At the commencement of the event, Dr. Rachhpal Singh,
Working Secretary of the Alumni Association of the college presented a brief report of the
achievements of the Alumni Association to the audience.

its wonderful achievements in curricular and co-curricular areas. Dr. Maghar Singh, State and
National awardee and Alumni of the college shared his experiences as well as interesting

G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized a seminar on Personality Development on March 11, 2022 in the college campus. S. Rajpal Singh, Chief Coordinator, Sri Sahaj Path Seva, Amritsar was resource person on the occasion. The event commenced with the singing of College Shabad. Dr. Jasvir Kaur, Incharge, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle wing of the college and Dr Jagjit Singh from Punjabi Department accorded a warm welcome to the resource person of the day. S. Rajpal Singh in his interaction with the students stressed on the need of having courage, confidence and satisfaction in life for the development of right personality. He further highlighted that teachers need to inculcate positive attitude among the students in order to help them in effective personality development. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the college while extending vote of thanks remarked that the lecture was a true blend of moral, ethical and motivational thoughts and it will help the students in their future perspectives as a teacher. He also appreciated the efforts put by S. Rajpal Singh for serving the society selflessly. An exhibition of spiritual books was also organized in the college library on this occasion.
GHG Khalsa Colleges organized a seminar on Women Empowerment on March 08, 2022 at GHG Khalsa College Gurusar Sadhar (Ludhiana). At the beginning, the Guest Speaker, Mrs. Harjot Kaur Gambhir, Managing Director of 'Delicious Bites' Pvt. Ltd. was welcomed with bouquet by Principal of GHG Khalsa College, Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal of GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Dr. Satwinder Kaur and Principal of GHG Khalsa College of Education, Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha. In his address, Dr. Harpreet singh highlighted the pivotal role of women in the society. Mrs. Harjot Kaur shared her life experience of being an entrepreneur in her lecture. She threw light on the woman's sense of self - worth and ability to determine her own choices. Dr. Pargat singh Garcha, in his speech, encouraged the students to come forward and pursue their desired goals and support the other girls to achieve theirs as well. Dr. Satvinder Kaur presented a vote of thanks and marked the contribution of women in every phase of life. The convener of event was Ms. Shikha Jain. The stage was conducted by Ms. Vishavpreet Kaur. The entire organizing team - Ms. Anjana Kumari, Ms. Aarti Sharma, Dr. Sonia Ahuja, Ms. Shubra Gupta, Ms. Manmeet Kaur and Ms. Anchal was also present at the occasion. A Poster Making Competition was also organized on the theme of 'Women Empowerment'. The winners of the competition were Akdeep Kaur (First), Gagandeep Kaur (Second), Karamjit Kaur (Third) and Simranjit Kaur (Fourth). A refreshment of juices was organized by SEWA Trust UK (NGO) for the students.
Diljot Kaur, student of B.Ed 2 nd Year of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education,
Gurusar Sadhar brought laurels to the college at All India Inter University
Rowing Championship. The championship is being organized at Sukhna Lake,
Chandigarh by Directorate of Sports, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Diljot
Kaur who is an outstanding rower, clinched three Gold Medal and two silver
medal in the championship.

Social Vision Club of G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar celebrated National
Voters’ Day and 73 rd Republic Day on 25th, January 2022 with gaiety and patriotic fervor. An
online celebration was organized for the same due to Covid- 19 restrictions. At the outset, Dr.
Jasleen Kaur, Incharge Social Vision Club presented welcome speech to all the faculty members
and the students. A cultural programme was organized by the students of B.Ed and M.Ed on this
occasion which commenced with the recitation of College Shabad followed by virtual flag
hoisting ceremony. Rajandeep Kaur of M.Ed Semester I delivered a speech on the topic
“Significance of Celebrating Voters’ day” while Prerna Shukla, Tanvi and Himansh recited
beautiful poems on the theme “Patriotism”. Sumandeep Kaur and Jaspal Singh shared their views
on the theme “Fundamental Rights” and “Republic Day” respectively. Simranjot Kaur of B.Ed
Semester III sang a beautiful song “Aye Vatan” and filled the atmosphere with the feeling of
patriotism. Palak of B.Ed Semester I delivered a speech on the topic “Democracy – Boon or
Bane and Gurpreet Kaur of B.Ed Semester I presented her views on “Constitution of India”.
Happy Sohal of B.Ed Semester III also enthralled the audience with his melodious song
dedicated to Republic day. Juhi of M.Ed Semester I highlighted the fact as to why we celebrate
26 th January as the Republic day. Dr. Manu Chadha, Associate Prof. in the college told the
students about the Hand Written Constitution written by Sh. Prem Bihari Narayan Rayzada.
Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the college inspired the students with his motivational
words at the end of the event and encouraged them to abide by the constitution and fulfill all
their duties as responsible citizens. He also congratulated incharges of the Social Vision Club
along with the students for organizing such a wonderful event. An oath taking ceremony was
also held on the occasion. The event concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.
Students and the faculty members of the G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar,
Ludhiana celebrated festival of Lohri with a lot of exuberance on January 13 th , 2022. A special
morning assembly was organized through online mode on the occasion. This online celebration
was joined by the students of B.Ed as well as M.Ed classes. Students sang folk songs related with
the festival and delivered speeches on the importance of the festival of Lohri, which ushers in the
cheerful spring season bidding adieu to the dull winter. Gurmeet Kaur of B.Ed Semester III
recited a beautiful poem dedicated to the festival while Pawandeep Kaur of B.Ed Semester III
shared her views on the Importance of celebrating the Lohri Festival. Ramanpreet Kaur and
Gagandeep Kaur of B.Ed Semester I presented the historical importance of celebrating the
festival of Lohri and Maghi respectively.
In the afternoon, faculty of the college celebrated the Lohri Festival by lighting the bonfire and
performing traditional ritual of “Lohri Poojan." They enjoyed the Lohri delicacies of rewaries,
groundnuts and sweets. Principal Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha congratulated the entire faculty and
the students for organizing the event with full fervor.
G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized National Mathematics Day on
29 December, 2021 to mark the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan, the great
mathematical genius who made exemplary contribution in the field of Mathematics. As a part of
the celebration, a cultural programme, video making and e-poster making competitions were
organized by the Ramanujan Club of the college. Prof. Anjana Kumari, from Post Graduate
Dept. of Mathematics, G.H.G. Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar was chief guest on the occasion.
In the cultural programme, Simarjeet Kaur of B. Ed Semester I delivered a speech on the Life
Sketch of Srinivasa Ramanujan while another student from B.Ed Semester I Ms. Amandeep
Kaur expressed her views on the "Importance of Celebrating Mathematics Day".
Ramandeep Kaur through her speech discussed the "Relationship of Mathematics with other
Subjects". Gurjinder Singh discussed the "Importance of Mathematics in Daily Life". The
students participated in the programme with great zeal and enthusiasm. Dr. Rachhpal Singh,
Incharge Ramanujan Club while interacting with the students said that the Mathematics day is
celebrated with an objective of creating awareness about importance of mathematics in day to
day life situations and also to create students interest in studying the Mathematics. Dr. Pargat
Singh Garcha, Principal of the college congratulated and appreciated the efforts of Ramanujan
Club and encouraged the students to participate in such activities in future as well.
G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized an extension lecture on the topic "Best Practices in Internship" on December 27, 2021. The lecture was organized in collaboration with Bombay Teachers' Training College, Mumbai- a constituent college of HSNC University, Mumbai under the faculty exchange programme. Dr. Mandeep Kochar, Vice Principal and Associate Prof. Bombay Teachers' Training College, Mumbai was the resource person on the occasion. The lecture commenced with the formal welcome of the resource person by Dr. Mini Sharma , Asst. Prof. in the college. Dr. Mandeep Kochar in her address to the students shared that online mode of teaching-learning has a lot of potential but she cautioned that the teachers as well as the students must be aware of real meaning of online mode of education. She advised the faculty and students that the challenges in online mode of education must be overcome in order to reap its real benefit. She further highlighted that Digital Smartness is the watchword in this era of online education. Social Vision Club of G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar celebrated Constitution Day on November 26th , 2021 in the college campus. A cultural programme was organized on the occasion. Students of B.Ed and M.Ed Sem I & III participated in the programme with full enthusiasm. The programme started with the reading of preamble by all the students and the faculty members. Simranjot Kaur, B.Ed student of the college gave a speech on the topic "Importance of Celebrating National Constitution Day." B.Ed Semester III students of the college who are on their internship practice also celebrated Constitution Day in their respective schools under the guidance of their incharges. Students of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education has once again proved their mettle in the Panjab University Interzonal Youth and Heritage Festival held at A.S. College , Khanna from December 14-18, 2021. College student Jaskiran Kaur of M.Ed Semester III and Parminder Singh of B.Ed Semester I won first prize in Essay Writing and Rassa Vatna event respectively. While Prabhjot Kaur of B.Ed Sem I got second prize in Chikku making and Nisha Rani of B.Ed Semester III won 3 rd prize in Mitti de Khidone making competition. Students who had excelled in 12 zones where nearly 200 colleges affiliated to Panjab university Chandigarh took part, participated at this interzonal level event. It is worth mentioning that earlier this month college won overall trophy in Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival by winning 62 prizes. Students who won first prizes at the Interzonal level will participate in the intervarsity level Youth and Heritage Festival. Social Vision Club of the college under the able leadership of Dr. Jasvir Kaur and Dr. Jasleen Kaur organized the assembly to make the students aware of the objectives of celebrating the Human Rights day. Dr. Jasleen Kaur while interacting with the students told that on this day in 1948, the United Nation's General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Day. She also told that this year the theme of celebrating human rights day is "Equality, Reducing Inequalities, Advancing Human Rights. Simranjot Kaur of B.Ed Semester III and Kirandeep Kaur of M.Ed Semester I delivered speech on the topic "An Introduction to Human Rights" and "Importance of Celebrating Human Rights" respectively. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the College stressed that Human Rights are necessary to provide every human the basic dignity to live.
G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar secured overall third place in Women's section as Ms. Pallavi Sejwal, Student of B.Ed Semester I of the college won Seven medals in Panjab University Intercollege Aquatics Competition organized by Directorate of Sports, Panjab University, Chandigarh from 6-7, December, 2021. She got four Gold Medals in 100,200,400 Freestyle and 200 butterfly categories. Pallavi also won one silver medal in 100 mts butterfly and two bronze in 50 mts. butterfly and breaststroke categories. It is worth mentioning that Ms. Pallavi Sejwal though a student of Education college has competed as a professional in Division "A" category of colleges affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh. Four-day Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage festival of Education Zone-B commenced
at G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana on December 04,2021. Over
700 participants from 22 educational colleges affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh from
Education Zone-B are competing in over 63 events at the festival, which is being organised after
two years due to Covid restrictions. The theme of the festival is "Love and Respect Nature".
S. Sakatar Singh Bal, PCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner Office, Ludhiana and Ms. Randhir
Kaur, Deputy Commissioner State Taxation was Chief Guest in the inaugural and second session
respectively of day one of the youth festival. Mr. Navjeet Singh (PCS) was Guest of Honour.
The event was inaugurated with a lamp lighting ceremony where the chief guest S. Sakatar Singh
Bal , Dr. S.S. Thind, Secretary, College Governing Council and the Principals of various colleges
lit the ceremonial lamp. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the college presented formal
welcome to all the guests present on the occasion. While addressing the students and the
participants S. Satkar Singh stressed that for inculcating moral values among students and for
their psychological wellbeing conducting such events is need of the hour. The inaugural day of
the festival witnessed spectacular performances in musical events including Group Shabad,
Bhajan, Group Singing (Indian), Folk song, classical music vocal, Gazal, Geet, instrumental
music (Indian), Percussion and non-percussion, orchestra, folk instruments and group folk
orchestra. Besides this student also competed in various events related to art including on the
spot painting, photography, Collage Making, Clay Modeling, Rangoli, Poster Making,
Cartooning and Still Life Drawing. The dignitaries present on the occasion included Dr. J.S Brar,
Dr. H.S. Brar, Dr. S.S. Deol, Dr. Sarbjit Kaur Ranu and S. Hardeep Gill.
