The college is located in village Sadhar, which is 28 Kmts. from Ludhiana on Ludhiana-Raikot-Barnala Road. This institution is associated with the name of Sri Guru HarGobind Sahib Ji, the sixth Guru, who once visited this place in 1633, symbol of Miri-Piri i.e. a combination of Spiritual as well as temporal authority. People of the area are grateful to late Nihang Shamsher Singh who selected this place as the nucleus of his spiritual and great educational adventure. In 1921, he started a modest Gurmukhi Pathshala( Vernacular primary school). In 1948, Intermediate College was started and later on, it became a Degree College i.e GHG Khalsa College.

INFLIBNET's N-LIST programme enables the library clientele to have access to more than 6000 e-journals and nearly 100000 e-books. This college is a member of British Council Library that enables us to have a wider access to the knowledge.
The needy and meritorious students are issued books from the book bank for the entire academic session on the recommendation of the tutor and with the permission of the Principal.
On the recommendation of the tutor and with the permission of the Principal, regular students of the college can become the members of this library by filling the prescribed form. For this they will have to adhere to the university regulations. The members of this library will be issued university roll numbers at the end of the year, after they clear all the library dues.
Library brings academic ambience in the educational institutions. Library "The Reservoir of Knowledge" has a paradigm shift from document to information. The library building and material inside it, no longer define the concept of academic library in the present scenario. The FDP which started on February 08, 2021 was organised in collaboration with Bombay Teachers' Training College, Mumbai, Council for Teacher Education Foundation (Punjab & Chandigarh Chapter) and The Best Health Solutions, Johannesburg, South Africa under PARAMARSH Scheme of UGC and was coordinated by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar and Bombay Teachers' Training College, Mumbai. The objective of this Faculty Development Programme was to analyse the methods of fund allocation to Higher Education Institutions in different countries and adoption of various innovative methods of financing of higher education. The Panel Discussion was organized in collaboration with Council for Teacher Education Foundation (CTEF). College of Education, Fazilka and Dr. Somu Singh, Asst. Prof., Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the college acted as Moderator for the panel discussion . The event started with the recitation of College Shabad followed by formal welcome of all the panelists by Dr. Sarbjit Kaur Ranu, Associate Prof. in the college. The panelists were of the view that in order to successfully implement the National Education Policy 2020 major curriculum revisions are required. There is a need to integrate theory and practice at all the levels of education. G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized Talent Search Competition on January 22, 2021 in order to explore the hidden talents of the students. All the M.Ed and B.Ed students of the college participated in it with great enthusiasm. Students showcased their talent in the various fine arts, heritage, literary, dance and singing competitions. Under fine arts category competitions were held for painting, landscape, collage, rangoli and poster making. In music category competitions were organized for classical vocal, shabad/bhajan, instrumental and folk group singing. Besides there were contests for literary category which included creative writing, debate, declamation, elocution etc. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha appreciated the efforts of the students for participating in the talent hunt with full zeal and dedication. He further highlighted that such competitions helps to inculcate confidence among the students along with nurturing creativity in them.
Students and the faculty members of the G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana celebrated festival of Lohri with a lot of exuberance in the college campus on January 13th ,2021. The programme kicked off with lighting of the bonfire and traditional ritual of "Lohri Poojan" A special morning assembly was organized on the occasion. In this programme students performed giddha and sang folk songs related with the festival and delivered speeches on the importance of the festival of Lohri, which ushers in the cheerful spring season bidding adieu to the dull winter. Special Lohri delicacies of rewaries, groundnuts and sweets were distributed among the students. Principal Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha in his address described the social, cultural and seasonal significance of the festival of Lohri and congratulated the entire faculty and the students for organizing the event with full fervor.
Career Counselling Cell of G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized online Career Group Counselling webinar in collaboration with District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, Ludhiana on December 18, 2020. Dr. Nidhi Singhi, Career Counsellor under the guidance of Sh. Sandeep Kumar ADC D cum CEO, District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, Ludhiana interacted with the students on the theme Career planning and Goal setting. She suggested various time management techniques to achieve career goals, avenues that are open after graduation and opportunities of self- employment. She talked at length about the steps and strategies to crack PTET, CTET and other competitive examinations. Dr. Nidhi shared with the students online facilities available at District Bureau of Employment and enterprises, Ludhiana along with the procedure of registration at PGRKAM portal. Social Vision Club of G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized a webinar on the theme "Indian Constitution: A Contextual Analysis on November 26th , 2020 to commemorate 'Constitution Day'. Mr. Parminder S. Bhogal, Associate Professor, Head, Post Graduate Department of Political Science, Arya College, Ludhiana was the resource person on the occasion. Mr. Bhogal in his address threw light on the making of Indian Constitution and highlighted the features of the constitution in detail. G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar conducted online quiz to commemorate 400th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji as per the directions of Higher Education, Punjab. The quiz was based on the life and preaching of Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. A total of 117 participants took part in the quiz. Ms. Ramandeep Kaur, a student of G.H.G Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar secured first position in the compition by obtaining 100% marks. Six students got second position while four students were placed at third position in the competition. College Principal Dr.Pargat Singh Garcha congratulated the participants for their outstanding results. He asserted that the younger generation should adopt the teachings of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in their lives in order to live a pious and worthy life. The workshop was organized for Mentee Institutions under the "UGC Paramarsh Scheme" by the college which has been designated as the "Mentor College" by UGC. The aim of the workshop was to comprehend all the parameters of quality assurance and sustenance as per the revised guidelines of NAAC and to help the Mentee Colleges in Self Study Report Preparation, enhancement and improvement of quality of research, teaching learning methodologies and recognizing the key indicators of all criteria and queries related to documentation and data validation for assessment and accreditation by National assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Reputed Educational Institutions of GHG Khalsa Colleges, Gurusar Sadhar (Degree College, College of Education and Pharmacy College) have successfully implemented the online Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver the study content to the students. This system will be accessible to every student enrolled in the college. The students can read, watch and listen to the content online whenever they want. The content related to the subject has been made available on this system in audio-visual and written forms by the college professors. As a mark of tribute and to commemorate the memory of S. Bakhtawar Singh Gill, Former President, College Governing Council, GHG Khalsa Colleges, Gurusar Sadhar, organized an Inter-College Gurbani Gayan Competition. The programme began after the Bhog of Akhand Path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The function was organized and celebrated collectively with religious fervour by all the institutions working under the Management- G.H.G. Khalsa Degree College, College of Education and College of Pharmacy. On this occasion, a Free Medical Check-up Camp and a Blood Donation Camp were organized with a team of doctors from DMC Hospital, Ludhiana, and Civil Hospital, Malerkotla, respectively. Bakhtawar Singh Gill took the initiative of providing education in this region during the times when there was prevalence of female foeticide and education was the domain of men. In the group category of the Gurbani Gayan competition, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, achieved the first position while Khalsa College, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, stood second and Gobind National College, Narangwal, stood third. In the individual category, Gursimran Kaur of Khalsa College, Ludhiana, Chetna of GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, and Manjot Singh, Gobind National College, Narangwal, stood first, second, and third, respectively. The panel of Judges who gave judgement on the occasion included S. Gobinder Singh Alampuri, S. Sahibjit Singh and S. Rajinder Singh. The winners were felicitated and honoured with trophies and cash prizes. An exhibition of books was also organized by Gurmat Pustak Centre on the occasion. Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle and N.S.S Units of the college made a special contribution towards making this event successful. In the end, a vote of thanks was given by Dr. S. S. G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organised one day National level seminar cum workshop under UGC PARAMARSH Scheme on February 27, 2020. The theme for the seminar was NAAC: Revised Accreditation Framework. Prof. S.P Malhotra, Director ETMA; chief consultant at M.H.R.D and former National fellow at NIEPA was the resource person on the occasion. The event commenced with the recitation of college shabad followed by formal welcome of the resource person and the other dignitaries by Principal Dr. Sarbjit Kaur Ranu. Dr. Manu Chaddha, Associate Prof. in the college made the audience aware about the whole process of NAAC along with the various criteria of writing Self Study Report. While speaking on the occasion Prof. S.P. Malhotra highlighted the difference between the present and former process of NAAC Assessment and Accreditation. He also provided very useful tips on how to prepare and improve the Self Study Report for NAAC assessment. In the technical session queries of the participants on various criteria of Self Study Report were addressed by the resource person. Social Vision Club of G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized a function to celebrate 71st Republic Day on 26th, January 2020. The programme started with flag hoisting ceremony by Dr. Sarbjit Kaur Ranu, Principal of the college followed by a cultural programme. The cultural programme commenced with the recitation of College Shabad by the B.Ed students. Suruchi Kumari of B.ED Sem IV delivered a speech on the importance of celebrating Republic Day .A performance on group song was given collectively by B.Ed and M.Ed students. Rita Rani recited a beautiful poem on the theme "Gantantar Diwas Phir Aaya Hai". Lakhvir Singh of B.Ed class enthralled the audience with his singing performance. Girl students of the college presented a mesmerizing choreography on the patriotic songs. The theme for the seminar was Philosophy of Guru Nank Dev Ji: Challenges of The Present Era. Ram Singh, eminent educationist and former principal were resource persons on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion Dr. Balwinderpal Singh threw light on the life and teachings of Guru Nank Dev ji. He said that Guruji propagated the teachings of love, empathy and compassion and stressed for inculcating the moral and religious values among the people for leading a dignified and disciplined life. Dr. Khushvinder Kumar highlighted some philosophical aspects of Guruji's life through Samvad Vidhi and by citing various Sakhis from His life. He stressed for following the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji in letter and spirit. We need to take guidance from His message in order to take our life in right direction. G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar organized its annual Alumni meet on November 9, 2019. More than 150 alumni attended the event to relive college years and reconnect with their Alma Mater. The meet was organized by Alumni Association of the college under the patron ship of Dr. Sarbjit Kaur, Principal of the college and Prof. Rachhpal Singh, Working Secretary of the Alumni Association of the college. Students of G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar has once again proved their mettle in the Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival of Educational Colleges (Zone -B) held at L.L.R.M College Education ,Dhudike, Moga from October, 14th -16th , 2019. College won 48 Prizes in all including the Runners Up Trophy. College students won 20 first prizes, 11 second prizes and 16 third prizes in the various categories. College Bhangra, Jhoomar, Instrumental Music, Installation, Collage, Elocution, Vaar, Phulkari, Histrionics, Bhand, Play, Ennu Making, Tokri and Guddian patole Making events bagged first position in the festival. Dr. Rachhpal Singh, Contingent Incharge mentioned that this is for the seventh consecutive time that the College Bhangra team has won first prize in the Youth festival. He further told that College Folk Dance (Jhumar) team also won First prize second time in a row in the Youth festival. The theme of the seminar was "Artistry in Teaching: Exploring the Unexplored". The resource persons for the seminar included Dr. Rajeev I. Jha (Associate Prof., Bombay Teacher's Training College, Mumbai), Dr. Mandeep Kaur Kochar (Associate Prof., Bombay Teacher's Training College) and Ms. Sushma Nair (Free Lancer Educational Consultant). The seminar commenced with the recitation of College Shabad followed by formal welcome of the resource persons by Dr. Sarbjit Kaur Ranu, Principal of the college.In the first session of the seminar on September 3, 2019, Dr. Rajeev I. Jha contemplated on the sub-theme "Creative Expressions: Dance, Drama, Music, Art & Craft" and their relevance in the field of education. Dr. Jha in his deliberation said that teaching is also an art like other art forms as it involves a combination of hand, head and heart like them. A teacher derives aesthetic pleasure from the act of teaching in the same way as an artist from its creation. The second session of the day was presided over by Dr. Mandeep Kaur Kochar. She deliberated on the sub-theme "Expressions and their Names". In her activity based session she cited many examples where art could be linked with the field of education. On day two of the seminar another resource person Ms. Sushma Nair conducted various activity sessions on the theme "Multiple Intelligence". B.Ed students of the G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana brought laurels to the college in the B.Ed examinations (Semester I) conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh. The examinations were held in the month of December, 2018. Sakshi Sharma secured 1st position in the university by scoring 401 marks while Richa Kalra achieved the 3rd place by obtaining 395 marks out of 450. The 2-days long 68th Annual Athletic Meet of the GHG Khalsa Colleges - Degree College, College of Pharmacy and College of Education -was declared open by the Chief Guest S. As a mark of tribute and to commemorate the memory of S. The programme began after the Bhog of Akhand Path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The function was organized and celebrated collectively by-G.H.G. Khalsa Degree College, College of Education and College of Pharmacy. On this occasion, a Free Medical Check-up Camp and a Blood Donation Camp were organized with a team of doctors from Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana, and Blood Bank, Ludhiana, respectively. The Camps were inaugurated by the Chief Guest Giani Harpal Singh from Gurudwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Sardarni Mohinder Kaur Gill and S. Manjit S. Gill, President. In his highly inspirational speech, the Chief Guest motivated the students to spare some time for the study and discussion of Gurbani and Gurmukhi. In his address, he contemplated on the need of acquiring content mastery on the part of teacher educators along with possessing professional skills. The theme for the Technical session I was "4 years Integrated Course in Teacher Education: Future of B.Ed colleges". Dr. Gaurav Singh, Asst. Prof. IGNOU, Delhi was the resource person for the technical session I. He spoke at length about the "Integrated Teacher Education Programme" and highlighted its benefits along with the related concerns. Dr. Khusvinder Kumar, Principal, M. M. Modi College, Patiala was resource person for the Technical session II. He deliberated on the theme of "NAAC Vs QCI: Logical Basis for this Change". Dr. Khushvinder raised his concern on the role of national regulatory bodies for teacher education and accreditation. The theme for the Technical session III was "Quality in Teacher Education in context of a business Models of Low Investment and High Returns". Dr. Jatinder Grover, Dean Faculty of Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh acted as resource person for technical session III. He expressed his dissatisfaction on the present scenario of Teacher Education in India and advocated for the revised curriculum for Teacher Education Programme as per the need of 21st Century.
