English Literary Society of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education, GurusarSadhar celebrated English Language Day on April 23, 2021by organizing an online event. The day is observed with an aim to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity throughout the world. Students of B.Ed and M.Ed gave wonderful performances and participated with full zeal in the event. BindiaJhanji of B.Ed Semester IV gave historical background of the celebrating English language day while Anupriya of B.Ed Semester I discussed the importance of English in daily life. GurpreetKaur of B.Ed Semester I deliberated on Importance of Reading Books and ArtiKaushal pondered on how we can use proverbs and idioms of English language in our daily communication. PoojaVerma shared the life history of J.K Rowling and Srividya reflected on Books and their importance in teaching. Gourav of B.Ed Semester IV shared a quiz related to English literature in which all the participants took part with full enthusiasm. Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal of the college while interacting with the participants said that the English language being a global language must be used in our daily communication. He further added that it has been a gateway to the great literature around the globe. Dr. Mini Sharma, Assistant professor with the college addressed the students on the significance and the ways to improve the communication in English language. The event concluded with the recitation of National Anthem.
