The S. Ramanujan Society of Mathematics at GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, celebrated the National Mathematics Day in memory of the famed mathematician Srinivasan Ramanujan by organizing a lecture followed by power point presentations and poster presentation. Prof. Dr. Gurmeet Bakshi, Chairperson, Mathematics Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh, was the guest speaker. He was accorded a warm welcome by Prof. Jaswant Singh, Principal, who, also, threw light on the significant contributions of S. Ramanujan to mathematics. The audience became all the more math-literate as Dr. Gurmeet Bakshi threw light on 'Group Theory' by using the popular game 'Sudoku' as an example. The students of P.G. Department of Mathematics shared knowledge through power point presentations and poster presentations. Prof. Jaswant Singh, Principal, appreciated the efforts of the Department and alongwith Prof. Navdeep Singh Sidhu, Head of P.G. Department of Mathematics, honoured the guest. In the end, Prof. Parveen Ansari gave a vote of thanks.
