The NCC Cadets (boys and girls) celebrated the Vigilance Awareness Week under the leadership of Lieutenant Prof. Preeti Saini and Prof.Inderjit Singh. Cadets Anushka, Antarpreet Kaur, Gopal and Harmanpreet Kaur gave lectures on various aspects of corruption and vigilance. The college Principal, Prof. Jaswant Singh Goraya encouraged the students to participate more in such awareness programs. All the students and teachers present on the occasion also took an oath against the corruption.The department of Biotechnology of G. H. G. Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar organized two competitions Poster Making and Paper Reading. They were organized to give students an opportunity to showcase their skills. Paper-reading helps the students to develop their confidence and communication skills whereas Poster-Making enables the students to think creatively and understand the concept they intend to display on the poster. There were 6 participants for paper reading contest and 9 for the Poster Making. The topics of Paper Reading were Green Technology, Covid-19, Global Warming, CRISPER-CAS technology, Bt Cotton and Applications of Biotechnology. The topics of Poster Making were Glycolysis, DNA Replication, Transcription and Translation, Soil Microbes, Genetically Modified Crops, Model Organisms, Parts of Plant's Reproductive system and HIV Vaccines.
In Paper Reading Contest the first, second and third prizes were won by Firoz khan, Aarushi Jain and Simar Riat (jointly with Lovepreet Bhardwaj) respectively. In the Poster Making competition Karamdeep Kaur, Sukhwant Kaur and Loveneet Kaur (jointly with Liza Birla) won Ist, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively. Principal Prof Jaswant Singh congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts made by the students. He further motivated the students to participate in all the incoming competitions to improve their personality. HOD, Biotechnology Prof Shikha Jain shared the tips with the students to excel in such competitions and the ways to structure the contents for presentation in the Paper-Reading and Poster Making. Prof Amritvijay Kaur and Prof Hardeep Kaur organized the function.
