GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, celebrated the festival of teej with fervour. The festival celebrations were inaugurated by Prof. Jaswant Singh Goraya, Principal Degree College, Dr. Satvinder Kaur, Principal, College of Pharmacy and Dr. Sarabjit Kaur, Principal, College of Education. The girls in traditional attire and a variety of cultural events added liveliness to the occasion. The audiences were captivated by the cultural programme consisting of folk dances: Giddha, tappey and Punjabi Boliyan and were equally delighted by traditional Punjabi dishes like Kheer, Malpure and tikkis. Various competitions like dish-making, rangoli, mehendi, hairstyle-making and cultural quiz were organized. An exhibition depicting the rich cultural heritage of Punjab was organized by P.G. Department of Computer Science. Prof. Jaswant Singh, Principal while felicitating the winners and participants added that such celebrations are instrumental in keeping the culture alive in this ever modernizing world.
