GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, footballers clinched the Reliance Youth Foundation Football Championship by beating Shri Ram College Dalla in the college boys category. By the time the match ended, the score was 8-0 in favour of Champions. Striker Jaspreet Singh, for his exceptional performance, was declared the Man of the Match & Man of the Tournament. He also, bagged the coveted Golden Ball Award and the Golden Boot Award for scoring the highest number of goals in this tourney. Rohit Kataria, the goal keeper of the champions team, won the Golden Gloves Award for his outstanding performance as the unscalable great wall for the opponents. With this historic triumph, GHG Khalsa College footballers qualified for the North Zone RYFS Football Championship which will be be held from 27th to 29th of November 2018 at Nihang Shamsher Singh Stadium, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar. Earlier in September 2018, the champions had also won the Panjab University Inter-College Championship. S. Manjit Singh Gill, President of the College Governing Council, Lt. Gen. I.S. Singha (Retd.), Director, Dr. S.S. Deol, Principal, and Dr. H.S. Brar, Registrar, congratulated the Champion team members, Team Coach Muhammad Akbar, Prof. Tejinder Singh Sidhu, Head, P.G. Department of Physical Education, and Team Manager Dr. Baljinder Singh for adding another chapter in the college's glorious history.
