The students, faculty members and other staff of the college celebrated World Environment Day by conducting a plantation drive in the college campus. A number of saplings of the plants named. Kochia, Gultagma, Balsam, Gladia, Sukhchaen, Zennia, Kalga etc. were planted in the beautiful and sprawling campus of the college. On the occasion, President, Governing Council S. Manjit Singh Gill, Director, Lt. Gen. Singha (Retd.) and Principal Dr. S.S. Deol were also present. Dr. Deol stressed upon the importance of plants in conserving the quality of environment. He also emphasized upon the fact that in present times, the deteriorating air quality due to excessive pollution necessitates the need of extensive plantation. It was further conveyed that the young generation need to be more aware in this regard and share the responsibility of protecting the environment. The college Management also congratulated the staff for this noble effort.
