The zoology department of G.H.G. Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar arranged a visit to apiary at P.A.U. Ludhiana for B.Sc. 6th semester students to get practical training in beekeeping. Dr. Jaspal Singh, Senior Entomologist, P.A.U. Ludhiana, demonstrated different species of honey bees, social life of honey bee, diseases of bees, equipment used for beekeeping, processing of honey, its sterilization and storage. He also gave in-depth knowledge of various training programmes being organized by P.A.U. for beekeeping and motivated the students to adopt apiary as profession after graduation.
