In the fight for freedom of India from enslavement, the role of Ghadari fighters has been prime. The dedication for freedom in these bravehearts was such that they laid their lives for the cause. These views honouring our Ghadar Movement fighters were expressed by Chief Guest, Prof. Harish Singh Puri, Professor (Retd.), Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, at the One Day National Seminar on ‘Ghadar Movement: Literature, Ideologies and History’ in collaboration with Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Chair, Punjabi University, Patiala organized by GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar. The dignitaries and the resource person were welcomed by Dr. Sohan Singh, Coordinator of the Seminar. In his address at the morning session, Dr. S.S. Deol, Principal, said that the exemplary lives of our freedom fighters are inspirational for the youth. The knowledge about their struggle, spirit and martyrdom is a constant reminder of the preciousness of our freedom. He also praised the mothers of these freedom fighters for raising such courageous sons of soil. On this occasion, renowned social worker S. Tehal Singh Kailey was specially honoured. The afternoon session was chaired by S. Bheeminder Singh, Coordinator Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Chair, Punjabi University, Patiala. In this session, Dr. Sarabjeet Singh, PTU, Kapurthala; Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar and Dr. Karanveer Singh, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar; Prof. Rakesh Kumar Bawa, Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College, Daroli Kalan; Dr. Savinder Pal Kaur, Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan; S. Paramjit Singh and S. Hardeep Singh, Punjabi University, Patiala; presented their research papers. The stage was conducted by Dr. Gurmeet Singh. The occasion was also graced by Dr. H.S. Brar, Registrar, Dr. Sarbjit Kaur, Principal College of Education, Dr. Balwinder Pal Singh, Vice - Principal. In the end, a vote of thanks was given by Dr. Baljeet Singh.
