Mr. Sanjay Kumar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary Sports & Youth Services, Government of Punjab, presided over the closing ceremony of 2-days long 68th Annual Athletic Meet of GHG Khalsa Colleges: Degree College, College of Education and College of Pharmacy. The Chief Guest was given a worthy introduction by Prof. Jaswant Singh, Principal, and apprised about the phenomenal achievements of the college in the field of sports especially the creation of world record by Paralympic Athlete Sandeep Chaudhary & qualification of Simran Kaur for Archery World Cup finals. The Chief Guest at the outset complimented S. Manjit Singh Gill, President, College Governing Council, and the management for the celebration of sports through consistent and remarkable achievements of the students. He said that the students of this college have carved a niche for themselves in sports as well as academically, which is a great achievement. He announced to build this college as a state level sports training centre with strength of 1000 players of which 500 shall be girls.The Chief Guest was joined by the Guest of Honour S. Ravinder Singh, DSO Ludhiana, for a colourful valedictory ceremony. The Best Athlete(s) among girls were specially honoured by Mrs. Joginder Kaur, Former Best Athlete of the college during early seventies. Sukhwinder Kaur and Lovepreet Singh (Degree College); Amandeep Kaur and Rajdeep Singh (College of Pharmacy) and Jaspreet Singh and Bhupinder Kaur (College of Education), were declared the best athletes of the meet. Lt. Gen. I.S. Singha (Retd.) Director, presented a vote of thanks and felt indebted to the Chief Guest, the enthused alumni and the strivers who took winning or losing in their stride. The event ended on a high note with Bhangra and Gidda performances. The occasion was also graced by Dr. S.S. Thind, Secretary, Dr. H.S.
